What Vodafone Business publishes about business SIM only
Vodafone Business's own business SIM only range gives a useful picture of how SIM only works on its network. It publishes:
- A choice of terms: Vodafone Business describes plans lasting 12 months, 24 months and 30 days, and its online plan selector also shows a 36-month term
- Use in unlocked devices: Vodafone Business says its business SIM works in unlocked devices as well as its own
- 5G on its own plans: Vodafone Business says 5G is included in all of its plans
- Unlimited data under an acceptable use policy: its unlimited plans are subject to that policy, and roaming has a fair use policy
- Prices ex VAT: with credit and eligibility checks
For the lines we supply on the Vodafone Business network, your quote sets out the plan, data options, term and price.
12 months, 24 months or 30 days
Vodafone Business describes its business SIM only plans as lasting 12 months, 24 months and 30 days, and its online plan selector also shows a 36-month term. The choice is a trade-off between a set price over a longer period and the freedom to change:
- 24 months or longer: a longer commitment, with the monthly price set out for the term subject to the annual price rise in the contract
- 12 months: a shorter commitment for businesses that expect their needs to change within a year
- 30 days: a rolling plan for temporary staff, projects or seasonal peaks
Whichever term you choose, check how the monthly price rises each year, what early termination costs, and whether the term on new lines added mid-contract lines up with the rest of the account. Our guide to business SIM only contracts explains each point. The terms on the plans we supply are confirmed at quote.
Is Vodafone Business SIM only the right fit for you?
We will check it against your systems and requirements and recommend the right option.
Unlimited data, fair use and roaming
Vodafone Business sells unlimited data plans, subject to its acceptable use policy, and roaming has its own fair use policy. The useful question is which of your people get the most from unlimited data.
Before you put a whole team on unlimited data, look at who actually needs it:
- Heavy users: staff who hotspot laptops, make frequent video calls or work from vehicles
- Field and site teams: people away from WiFi for most of the day
- Light users: office-based staff on WiFi most of the time, who may be well served by a capped allowance
- Travellers: staff who roam need the roaming terms checked separately from the UK data allowance
Our guide to the unlimited data business SIM goes through fair use, tethering and roaming limits. We can help you split the team between unlimited and capped lines, and set spend and roaming caps where they make sense.
Small, medium and large businesses
Vodafone Business organises its range by size: small business (1-9 employees), medium business and large business. The size of your organisation changes what you should look for:
| Organisation | What usually matters | Read more |
|---|---|---|
| Sole traders and small teams (1-9) | Keeping numbers, a simple bill, the right data per person, spend caps | SIM only for small businesses |
| Medium businesses | Shared or individual data, adding and removing users, roaming controls | Fleet SIM cards |
| Large businesses | Account management, many lines and devices, SIM records, staged switching | Porting multiple mobile numbers |
Whatever your size, a mix of voice SIMs for people and data SIMs for tablets, laptops and routers is common. See business data only SIM and business SIM only plans for how to size each line.

Check coverage before you commit
Coverage where your people work is the main reason to choose a network. Before you sign, check the Vodafone Business coverage checker for your offices, sites, staff postcodes and the routes your mobile staff use most, indoors as well as outdoors, and at 5G if you plan to use it.
Your team already knows where their phones struggle today, so ask them too. Our guide to business SIM only networks explains how to approach the choice, and 5G SIM only for business covers what you need to use 5G.
Switching and keeping your numbers
You can move your existing numbers to the Vodafone Business network. Vodafone Business publishes these points about joining with a PAC or STAC:
- PAC to keep your number: request a PAC from the provider you are leaving
- STAC for a new number: request a STAC instead if you do not need to keep the number
- Valid for 30 days: once your current provider issues the code
- Businesses with 10 or more employees: Vodafone Business asks its direct customers of that size to contact their account manager, or use its Corporate Online (VCO) portal
Ofcom's rules set the steps for getting the codes: text PAC to 65075 (or STAC to 75075) from the number, or, if there is more than one number on the account, ask your current provider by phone or on its website. Your provider must send information about any early termination charges with the code, and the new provider must complete the switch within one working day.
For plans you take through us, we handle the order with you and confirm the switch date at quote. See PAC codes, STAC codes and keep your number.

- Quote SIM only plans on the Vodafone Business network: with the plan and terms set out clearly
- Plan the move: PAC or STAC codes, switch dates and SIM or eSIM activation
